Which stall suits your work

Creative stall (Artist Alley)

BWP 200

A showcase for Botswana's makers and artists, and a chance to share your work with the Afurotaku community. We welcome work you have made yourself, whether it is your own idea or your own interpretation of an existing series or character.

What fits
Your own art printed on paper, such as art prints, stickers and zines, as well as handmade crafts, one-off pieces, commissions, live drawing, and creative services such as nails or makeup.
What is placed in a vendor stall instead
Items printed onto blanks, such as T-shirts, frames, mugs, phone cases and acrylic keychains, even when the design is your own, and bought-in or factory-made goods.
How we choose
We want every creative stall to offer something unique, so we aim to avoid having two stalls selling the same type of work. Selections are made based on your portfolio or shop link.
Fan-inspired work
We welcome your own interpretation of a series or character. However, straight copies or tracings of official artwork are not what creative stalls are for.
To apply
Include a link to your portfolio or shop.

Vendor stall

BWP 250

For merchandise, collectibles, gaming gear and mass produced goods. We welcome vendors selling items printed onto blanks, such as T-shirts, frames, mugs, phone cases and acrylic keychains, even when the design is your own.

What fits
Anime and pop culture merchandise, collectibles, gaming gear, and printed goods in any quantity.
Fan-created merchandise
We welcome independently made, fan-created merchandise. We do not check for bootlegs or counterfeits, so please sell only items you are sure are legitimate. You are responsible for what you sell, and if a rights holder raises a concern about an item, we will ask you to remove it from your stall.
Not sure where you fit?
Include your portfolio or shop link with your application. This helps us assess your work and find the best fit for you. If another stall category would suit your work better, we will let you know.
To apply
Include a link to your portfolio or shop, and photos of your products.

What we provide, and what you bring

What we provide
Your 2 x 2 m space, free power, free entry for 4 people on your stall (extra helpers pay the BWP 20 entry), a Stall badge, and a designated Afurotaku guide as your contact on the day.
What you bring
Your own table, shade, cables and water. Power points are limited, so please bring a safe extension cable and tell us what you plan to plug in.

What is not allowed

No alcohol or smoking products anywhere on the premises, and no drugs, adult material or live animals. Cosplay props must be safe: metal items, toy guns that shoot pellets, and real knives or swords are not allowed. Stalls do not play music; the only music is the DJ's on stage.

Straight answers · 正直に

What applicants usually ask us

Can I sell fan art of existing characters?

We welcome fan art in the creative stall when you have made it yourself and brought your own interpretation of the series or character, for example a Goku eating pap at the village. Straight copies or tracings of official artwork are not what creative stalls are for. We do not verify licensing, so you are responsible for the work you sell. If a rights holder raises a concern about an item, we will ask you to remove it from your stall.

Can I sell my own fan-created merchandise?

We welcome independently made, fan-created merchandise, and an official licence is not required. Handmade items, such as resin, clay, sewn or hand-painted pieces, fit the creative stall. Items printed onto blanks, such as acrylic keychains, fit the vendor stall. We do not verify licensing, so you are responsible for the work you sell, and if a rights holder raises a concern about an item, we will ask you to remove it from your stall.
